Biden looks for a big win in South Carolina’s Democratic primary after pushing for state to go first(Part-2)

“A dictatorship-making leader can't be tolerated. We can't live under a dictatorship. That will hurt America, said 42-year-old Columbia small business owner LaJoia Broughton. So I vote for Biden. It is with Biden and will remain so.

Like many Americans in public polls, some voters worried about 81-year-old Biden's age. Trump is 77. Both men have made public mistakes that cast doubt on their readiness.

“They’re as old as I am and to have these two guys be the only choices, that’s kind of difficult,” said 77-year-old Blythewood, South Carolina resident Charles Trower. I prefer President Biden to the other man

Last week's New Hampshire primary defied the new timetable and was not DNC-sanctioned. Biden won the state via write-in, and a huge South Carolina win might calm a majority of people, as most Democrats don't want him to run again.

Biden has the support of the Democratic establishment and even possible presidential candidates who may have challenged the president from the left or middle. The DNC isn't organizing primary debates, and Phillips has contested his name's exclusion from Florida and North Carolina ballots.

Trump's reelection campaign is already focused on November's general election, and Harris said Friday that "it is on us then to recognize the profound threat he poses to our democracy and to our freedoms."

“Across our nation, our fundamental freedoms are at stake,” Harris added. “This need not be the case.” Trump accuses Biden of jeopardizing democracy while downplaying his part in pushing election fraud myths among the Capitol rioters on Jan. 6, 2021.

Biden's campaign, the DNC, and its fundraising arms raised $97 million in the fourth quarter of last year and had $117.4 million in cash in 2024. Trump started the election year with $42-plus million and $130 million in 2023's fourth quarter.
